We are going to McKenzie Bridge, OR to ride
the McKenzie River trail, this weekend. The McKenzie River trail has
repeatedly been written about as one of the top trails in the United States.
It should be fun if we can dodge the first rain that we have had for
awhile. For more info and reviews on this ride from MTBR.com

Cyclo-cross season has started and one of
the first races of the season kicked of in Hood River. Here is the

LIVESTRONG Ride.
LIVESTRONG™
Ride Portland 2005
To riders, sponsors, volunteers and
special guests, thank you for a successful
LIVESTRONG
Ride!
3,500
LIVESTRONG
Ride participants from 30 U.S. states and Canada raised more than $1.3
million to support the LAF's mission to inspire and empower people affected
by cancer through advocacy, education, public health and research.
Through an LAF grant, funds raised by the
LIVESTRONG Ride will help the
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Cancer Institute launch
a state-of-the-art young adult survivorship center to serve the needs of a
population for whom improvement in survival rates has lagged behind their
younger and older peers.
Funds will also be dedicated to LAF
programs that help people living with cancer.

The
LIVESTRONG
ride was a blast, and raised a ton of cash (over a million). I really
enjoyed it especially watching the friend I rode with suffer for 70 miles.
J-Dog I hope you have soft cushions on your couch your going to need them.
LOL.
I also have a new addition to TRIBE503. It
is a
TECH TIPS page. The page has links to technical
questions to your bicycle. Some of the info came from The
United Bicycle Institute. UBI is
located in Ashland, Oregon and offers a variety of courses from learning to
be a mechanic to building your own frames. They have a great website
with tons of info. Check it out.

I went to Bend Oregon today to ride Phil's
trail for the first time. I have to say that this trail was hella fun.
It isn't to hard. Actually it is not hard at all. It is just fun
to ride with a 4.5 mile downhill slalom type finish. I would recommend
that if you are ever in Bend check this trail out.

My computers been down so I haven't updated
for awhile. I am back now so lets get things started.
The Post Canyon Trail map is out now.
Actually it was out one month ago. It was made by the
Gorge Freeride Association.
TRIBE503.com is one of the sponsors of the trail map. GFRA do an excellent
job of making trails and stunts at Post canyon for us mountain bikers to
ride on. They are also making these trails correctly by working with
IMBA for responsible trail building. These men that make the trails work
hard with Hood River county to insure that these trails will be around for
some time to come. They are a fine example for good stewardship of the
land they ride. Go check out the riding there. E-mail them
at gfra@gorge.net to find out where you can locate a map.
The ABA has just released the 2006 National
Race schedule. There will be two races in the Northwest this year.
The first race will be in March for the Great Northwest National in Pasco
Washington. The second race will be in June in Eugene, Oregon
for the return of the Lumberjack National. I know that a lot of Oregon
riders are happy to have this national taking place in Oregon again.
