Hello Everyone,
Hood River County has activated its parking pass system for local trail areas. Passes are required starting May 4th. This parking system is a long time coming and the funds it generates go towards the trail system. Also, this is the first year that HRC has set up a Recreation Trails Special Revenue Fund, so the financial details of the Recreation Trails system will be known. The parking system is just one part of the budget for the Recreation Trails system.
Parking permits are $5 per day or $30 for the season and can be purchased at the link here.
A link to a map of the permitted areas is here. In general, please buy a parking pass if you park anywhere in Post Canyon. This includes Binns Hill and Kingsley Reservoir. The goal is to make the parking system hassle-free for you and HRC allowing everyone to put our efforts toward trail improvements.
Permits are required at parking zones between dawn and dusk. They may also be purchased on mobile devices at staging areas in the County Forest. Users who park in designated zones are asked to write the order information on paper permits available at boxes on staging area kiosks. Annual permits will also be available at selected local vendors and announced soon.
A link to the HRC document announcing the system is here.
Thank you,
Tim Mixon
