Hood River Area Trail Stewards: Families at Family Man, Shuttle Day thanks

Families at Family Man starts May 26
Families at Family Man is back! The fun starts at the Family Man Staging Area in Post Canyon this Thursday, May 26, at 6:00 p.m. Join us for free cheese pizza, raffle prizes, kids’ shirts (adult shirts available for purchase), and activities. This free community event runs every Thursday through July 28.

FAFM 2022 director Kerry Lee is an HRATS board member, local business owner, and mother of a 10-year-old developing rider.

“I believe FAFM provides tremendous value to our community by providing a place for kids to get together and explore their riding independence,” Lee said. “We have watched it grow into an event that families look forward to every year. I still see kids and parents wearing FAFM shirts from 2019 with pride and it makes me so happy!”

FAFM is sponsored by local businesses invested in building the local mountain biking community and supporting young shredders in Hood River. We strive to keep FAFM as waste free as possible, so please bring your own tableware and water bottles. Come join us this week for the big kick-off event!

Thank you, Shuttlers!
Many thanks to all the riders who came out this weekend to support our first ever Shuttle Day on Saturday, May 21. We had perfect conditions, a big turnout, and so much fun. About eighty folks took multiple rides facilitated by our fabulous sponsors—Hood River Mountain Bike Adventures, Brave Endeavors, School of Send, Mountain View Cycles, and the Cooper Spur Alpine Team. The event raised $3,400 (including the funds from the lemonade stand run by seven-year-old Miles and five-year-old Otis Caldwell) to support our efforts at HRATS. We’re thinking of making this an annual event.

Donation Appreciation
Speaking of raising money, we’d like to take a minute to thank all our generous donors who give money to support HRATS’ mission. As you can read in the HRATS 2021 Annual Report, last year donor contributions funded $52,000 worth projects in Post Canyon, Nestor, Whopdee, Wy’East Middle School and others. The majority of HRATS donations come from small individual donors (52 percent) and a few local businesses (32 percent). Some folks will write a big check out of the blue, and others send us $10 a month. However much you give, every bit counts and we thank you!

HRATS is a 502c3, which makes your donations tax deductible. Our Fed ID is 90-0425101 and our EIN is 45-4200585. Checks can be mailed to 1767 12th St. #209 Hood River, OR 97031, and you can also donate through PayPal.

Happy riding and spread the stoke!Copyright © 2022 Hood River Area Trail Stewards, All rights reserved.
