Happy Fall, Folks!
We hope you’re getting some good trail time. Here’s HRATS news for the week:
Shuttle Day October 8
Shuttle Day is back! You can support trail building and have fun doing it on October 8 at Post Canyon. A cool $40 donation gets you unlimited shuttle rides from the gravel road at the bottom of Post Canyon to the Binn’s Staging Area. The sign-up table will be at the bottom, and shuttles will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please consider riding from home or parking at Family Man Staging Area and riding down to the shuttle spot to alleviate congestion. Shuttle Day couldn’t happen without our generous sponsors: School of Send, Brave Endeavors, Mountain View Cycles, Cooper Spur Alpine Team, and others. It’s gonna be fun, so don’t get left in the dust.
Feeling Board?
If you’ve got a passion for trails, we’ve got a couple of openings coming up on the HRATS board. Our esteemed VP and Secretary—Jim Wood and Jenni Bergman, respectively—are ready to pass the torch. We’ve had interest in these two openings but want to hear from all parties. We’re also looking to fill a new position for a Trail Maintenance Team Coordinator. We need a highly motivated, not-afraid-to-ask-favors, well-organized, well-connected person to do this job. The main purpose of this position is to get our awesome trail adopters the help they need when and where they need it. This person will develop and coordinate a system of volunteers to help in different regions around the Gorge, including Post, Whoopdee, and Buck Creek.
FUNdraising
Thank you to everyone who showed up for our recent fundraisers. Recent movie nights at EVO and River City Saloon raised more than $1,200. Thank you to our generous sponsors, especially Dirty Fingers, Kickstand, Cascade Armory, Deschutes Brewery, Ablis CBD, and Lolo Racks for generous support and awesome raffle swag, and also to our hosts—EVO and River City Saloon. This money goes into the piggybank toward the Family Man Rebuild, which will begin in 2023.
Happy riding and spread the stoke!
