Hood River Area Trail Stewards Update: Post Potty, Fall work parties, donations

Hello, Trail folk!

Hope you’re enjoying the fall riding and doing a rain dance or two. Here’s our news for the week:

Post Potty
If you’ve ridden through the Seven Streams Trailhead this week you’ve no doubt noticed a new edition—a shiny blue Porta Potty just for us. Here’s a little trivia: Seven Streams staging area is located on Oregon State Parks land. Hood River County has an agreement to maintain the area for Oregon State Parks. HRATS negotiated with both the county and the state to get this much-needed pit stop approved and is paying for installation, pumping, cleaning, removal, and reinstallation with plans to have it available for use March through November. Please enjoy it responsibly.

Fall work parties
Our dusty trails need a bit of TLC, and you can pitch in at one of our work parties. The first will take place Saturday, October 29, at Post. Meet up at Family Man at 9:30 a.m. and bring gloves, water, and a good attitude. We have more work days ahead, so stay tuned for details.

Got a notion for donation?
If you want to contribute to HRATS, but don’t have time to join a work party, we’ll happily take your money. HRATS is a 502c3, which makes your donations tax deductible. Our Fed ID is 90-0425101 and our EIN is 45-4200585. Checks can be mailed to 1767 12th St. #209 Hood River, OR 97031, and you can also donate through PayPal. Many people choose a sustaining monthly donation. Regular amounts, even modest ones, help us plan and budget for the future.

Thanks for reading this newsletter and passing it along to others. If you’d like to stay up to date about trail closures, work parties, HRATS meetings, and other biz, follow us on Instagram and Facebook.

Have a great week!
