Hello Everyone
I walked Family Man Last week with TJ and Doug from Hood River County and MTB school owners Bekah Rottenberg and Gary Paasch. This was our first walk-through since the Nov. thinning operation. I am thrilled to report the thinning operation is finished and trees removed, leaving a beautiful forest with well-spaced trees. Family Man will be gorgeous after we clean up the thinning debris and rebuild it with our new plan.
We expect to start the rebuild process in late winter or early Spring. We need your help, though. We expect to spend a lot on the rebuild, and we need your donations. We have set up an OUTRIDE FUND at https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/4250089 to raise $30K from donations. This fund allows us to write a grant for up to $15K of additional matching funds, which we have a good chance of getting. We are at $12K now with the help of some big donations, but donation numbers are actually very low. I want over 200 individual donations to show the grant reviewers how important Family Man is.
Please donate to our OUTRIDE Family Man fund at https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/4250089
Important:
Family Man is not open to the public and will not be for some time. There is a lot of debris on the ground covered in snow, and many “widow makers” in the trees. We will let winter hit it for a few months before cleaning it up.
Please respect closure signs and notice the hard hats we wore in the image below.
Happy Holidays,
Tim Mixon
